Well, it had to happen. My new blog is no longer a Google Web Search virgin and now has its first bona-fide click as a result.
Don’t misunderstand me, the blog itself has already had hundreds of visitors because I know how to drive traffic in other ways, but it’s relatively new; it went live on 24th April so it’s still less than a week old and the first organic web search click came in on the 28th.
So 5 days for the first click…
As you may already know, it takes time for a new web property to start getting any real traction in the form of organic search and clicks that result from it.
Also, I’m not writing this blog content or even creating the titles (at the moment at least) with the search engines in mind. My blog at this stage in its life is all about the visitors I get from my existing audience/web properties and my intention over time is that the readership of it will increase because everything on here is totally helpfully human (is that even a thing? it is now), done the good old-fashioned way with my fingers responding to what is going on inside my brain.
A scary thought indeed, dear reader 🙂
Any traffic that comes from the search engines is what I would call a “Brucie Bonus” (Any Bruce Forsyth fans out there?)
With all that being said, have a lookie at the shiny new click:
The humans are arriving from the search engine gods – OMG!
Now this blog is no longer a ‘clicks from organic web search’ virgin, let’s see what happens over time as it matures.
It’s going to be very interesting looking back over these old posts as time goes by.
Stick with me on this journey and we can age like fine wine together.
