Service: Clicky Web Analytics
Type of Service: Website Analytics
Free & Paid: Both
Cost: FREE to Track 1 Website. PRO $9.99 Tracks 10 (more plans available)
Today I have a review for you which is a service you can use to quickly start tracking visitors to your website and it’s a privacy-friendly alternative to something like Google Analytics
Gettin’ Clicky With It (Will Smith Not Included)
Let me say, straight out of the gate, that I haven’t explored all the features of this yet, I just know that it does what I need very well. It allows me to see what visitors are doing in realtime on my pages and what links they are clicking on (etc).
The service is called Clicky and they have various plans available including a free version which allows you to track one website.
Personally I am using the Pro version of it which costs $9.99 a month and allows you to track up to 10 websites.

At the time of writing I’m actually using it on this blog and I can see which country visitors are coming from, what pages they are looking at and even what links on my blog they are clicking on.
Cast your eyeballs over this snapshot of the last couple of hours today to this blog:
Using the Clicky tracking service I can see:
- What time visitors have visited my site (there’s a tongue twister if ever there was one)
- What country the visitor is from
- How long they have spent on my site during that session
- How many actions they took including how many pages they have visited and what links they have clicked on
- Which page they landed on when they arrived at my blog.
It’s quick way to get a snapshot of who is visiting your website and what they are doing when they end up there, which is all I really need it for at this point in time.
It’s simple… and simple is one thing I like as I quickly lose patience with convoluted and difficult to use interfaces.
This one gives me the data I need in a couple of clicks.
You can even install a plugin which shows you the stats on your dashboard if you have a WordPress Blog.
Let me just show you what that looks like in your dashboard here in terms of stats:
You can drill down and see other data including where the traffic actually came from (i.e. Search Engines/Advertising etc) and there’s a dropdown in your dashboard which allows you to check out pageviews, referrers and so on.
It’s a useful Website Analytics tool for something so cheap and you can test out the free version on 1 website to see if you like it.
Personally I do and I’m using it on this blog, which is the primary reason I am telling you about it and why I’m paying $9.99 a month for a PRO account. If you try it out, let me know what you think of it in the comments…
