It’s been a while…
I am going to get back into a regular posting schedule on this blog. Apologies for the absence of posts recently but other projects have been taking up my time and the summer months have quite literally been whizzing by.
Last Monday morning my PC blew up. I went to power it on and it just did a pathetic ‘orange light thing’ at me as it sputtered out. I pressed it again, backed up with a large dash of eternal optimism and my misguided faith in its ability to self-repair, but unfortunately these things aren’t living organisms.

I always hate it when that happens, due in no small part to the inconvenience and my brain insisting things should never break (I’m working on it). Although I have contingency measures in place I took it as a sign from the gods to take some time off and do other things for a few days while it was being repaired by the guy I always take things of this nature to. While I’m there I shoot the breeze with him about childhood gaming machines like the Neo-Geo (he must have been rich and posh) and amusement arcades that are now largely consigned to history 🙂
One day I even decided to go wandering off for a few hours picking blackberries, which was a welcome interlude that I intend to do more of whenever they are in season. There’s something decidedly therapeutic about reaching for a ripe blackberry the birds haven’t got to yet, even if I say so myself. When I was a kid I would always pick blackberries in my grandfathers back garden. Given there was little else to do there it was often the highlight of my visit and they even had a gooseberry bush, so what’s not to love.
Of course, the business I am in is internet marketing so while you aren’t working, you need money coming in while you are out picking blackberries as oppose to sitting in front of a computer screen tippity-tapping away on a keyboard in the height of Summer.
Speaking of Summer, we say it every year, but how hot has it been.
Here in the UK people say things like, “I like it hot but not this hot”, then they moan when Winter is here and tell you they are looking forward to the Summer again 🙂

This rather neatly brings me back full circle to the topic of income coming from your online endeavours even when you’re not working.
