Today I have a review for you about a program that I am a member of called Master Affiliate Profits (MAP) and an exclusive bonus if you stick around until the end. It was a bit like a voluntary prisoner of war camp where you got to log off at the end of the day, only to return the following day for more self imposed punishment at the hands of an employer. I was desperate to get the hell out of there so I looked around for opportunities.

Tales Of The Notepad Ninja

While we had the internet by this stage, I didn’t know anything about affiliate marketing/internet marketing and to give you an idea of how far behind the curve I was, I built my first website using nothing but notepad.

Yes, that’s right. I built a recruitment site using notepad. It took me two weeks and I was very proud of it. I told my girlfriend about it and after a brief review of it she enquired, “Why didn’t you just use a template?”.

Say what? A template? What is this sorcery you speak of? I’d never heard of templates or html page builders.

Cut a long story short, I didn’t make much money with my first venture. I signed up a few friends and didn’t really make enough to buy much more than a packet of peanuts with it so I put that idea on the backburner and temporarily forgot about my aspirations until I went on holiday to Paphos one year. I enjoyed that holiday so much I fantasised about this idea I had floating around inside my head one day. I thought to myself, “What if I could go on holiday and come back richer than when I went away? How awesome would that be”.

When I returned from the holiday, I reviewed my options online and ended up going down the SEO route but the one thing I failed to do to any material degree was build a list, other than on a couple of niche specific websites I ran. If you’re reading this right now and you want to make an income in any of the big niches (health, wealth & relationships etc) and don’t yet have a list, make starting one your first priority.

It’s one thing to know that people are making a lot of money with affiliate marketing, but it’s another thing entirely to know HOW to do it.

At this point you basically have two options:

1) Figure it all out yourself by trial and error / reading articles / watching videos.

2) Learn from industry veterans with a track record that have made millions of dollars online.

If you value your time, the smart thing to do is here is choose option number 2. I’m not saying option 1 is impossible and I don’t subscribe to the notion that you can’t figure things out eventually by yourself, but it’s a long road and time is valuable.
